24-Hour Comics Day at Antenna
24-Hour Comics Day is a free event held around the world which challenges writers and artists to create a full 24-page comic in 24 consecutive hours. Every year since 2004 this event has taken place at official event sites including comic book stores, schools, libraries, and art spaces on at least five continents.
The thousands of participants who have created tens of thousands of pages of original art have included the young and the old, people with decades of professional comics creation experience all the way to those who have never tried to draw a panel before.
For the second consecutive year, Antenna Gallery will be the New Orleans home for the event. It will start at noon, Saturday October 6th, and end at noon, October 7th at 3718 Saint Claude Avenue. Artists must bring their own art supplies. Be prepared to stay up all night! New Orleans Comic Artist, John Slade will be the master of ceremonies providing atmosphere and some light snacks.
