Antenna::Room 220 is pleased to announce two new open calls for creative work:
Submission Deadline: May 21, 2016
Antenna is soliciting proposals for chapbooks that investigate the intersections and collaborative possibilities between literature and art (defined and interpreted broadly). This continues a series of chapbooks that Antenna has produced for nearly a decade. You can check out some of the books here.
Submissions can be either fully fleshed out, in process, or in the incubation stage. Publication size can be no larger than 8″x 5″ with page count under 48 pages, including cover.
We are open to content of any kind; however, we give preference to publications that interpret ideas through the lens of New Orleans or have a connection to the city.
Selected Chapbook projects will receive:
-$300 stipend (to be split among the authors/artists/collaborators)
-Antenna will provide layout and design assistance if needed.
-A print edition of 200 will be made under the Antenna::Press Street imprint. 50 free copies will be given to the authors.
-The remainder will be sold and distributed by Antenna.
-Completed books will also be featured at the Printed Matter NY Art Book Fair at MOMA PS1, September 16-18, 2016.
REFLECTIONS ON EXILE :: displacement, migration, dissociation
Submission Deadline: June 1, 2016
Antenna is seeking submissions of short fiction, non-fiction, poetry or prose for inclusion in Antenna::Signals 002, a print publication to accompany Antenna’s quarterly, thematic “live arts magazine” event. Submissions should explore the Antenna::Signals 002 theme of “Reflections on Exile :: displacement, migration, dissociation.”
Conceived as a “live arts magazine,” Antenna::Signals is a new sort of variety show by the artists and writers of Antenna. Each “issue” of Antenna::Signals will feature a spread of 8 local artists, writers, musicians, scientists and scholars whose practices relate thematically. The live event will be accompanied by the release of a two-dimensional print version, with each magazine dropping during the live event. Issue::002 will drop on July 7, 2016, 7-9pm.
Questions about either open call can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
