NATHANIEL RICH is the author of King Zeno, published this year, and two previous novels: Odds Against Tomorrow and The Mayor’s Tongue. His short stories have appeared in McSweeney’s, Vice, and the Virginia Quarterly Review, which awarded him this year’s Emily Clark Balch prize for fiction. He is a writer-at-large for the New York Times Magazine and a regular contributor to the New York Review of Books and the Atlantic. He lives in New Orleans.
