Looking Local

Looking Local is comprised of 11 artists, photographers,

and writers who are united because their creative practice

has a connection to a specific place. For some participants,

it is the place they currently call home that informs their

work. For others, home remains a distant place,

somewhere in the inaccessible past or unknowable future.

The inability to return to a place (personally or collectively)

is the theme of several works; as are reactions to memory,

nostalgia, and dislocation.
