This opportunity is for those living and working in Louisiana. Individual Visual Artists or Collaboratives working in any media are encouraged to apply to the Antenna::Open Call. One applicant will be selected and will be awarded a solo show for the 2019 calendar year, an honorarium of $1,500 (split amongst the group, if collaborative. Please note these funds are meant to cover all costs of this opportunity, including any installation, shipping, or travel expenses if necessary), and the publishing of an exhibition catalog, artist book, or other similar ephemera to be determined in collaboration with the artist and Antenna’s publishing center, Paper Machine.

We are excited to have writer and curator Jackie Clay as this year’s juror for the Antenna :: Louisiana Open Call. A graduate from California College of the Arts with dual-interdisciplinary degrees, her intellectual practice centers on black visual culture. An Alabama native, she believes art and art institutions should service their publics, and organizations should encourage or sustain collective community health. She current serves as director of the Coleman Center for the Arts, continuing its rigorous program of artist driven, collaborative public works, and structural experimentation. In addition to selecting a single winner of the Louisiana open call, she will also work with Antenna staff to create a special program opportunity with this year’s finalists.

To apply for this opportunity, you must be a Louisiana resident and must submit the following:

-A portfolio of recent works (10-20)
-Inventory list including titles, dates completed, sizes, and mediums
