Bren McClain’s Mama Bone Barnstorm Book Tour comes to New Orleans for two days, starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the Jefferson Parish Library (4747 W. Napoleon Avenue).

Bren McClain received her BA from Furman University in Greenville, SC. She founded her consulting business, McClain Communications, in 1990.

McClain was awarded the South Carolina Arts Commission Fiction Fellowship (2005); is a two-time winner of the South Caroline Fiction Project (2003, 2007); and her new book One Good Mama Bone was named as a 2012 Finalist for the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Award for a Novel-in-Progress.

She is currently at work on her next novel, Took, which won the 2016 William Faulkner-William Wisdom prize for Novel-in-Progress.
