Umekia’s Corner presents The Whitness (Eye Whitness Book Release) Poetry Jam and Open Mic at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, at the Catahoula Hotel (914 Union St).

Akeem and the DCpoet bring you Brown Sugar vibes and hip-hop music and making history as The Whitness makes her poetry publishing debut with Eye Whitness Special guest performers include Sabrina Hayes and Sam Wyse.

Admission is free with a 1 drink minimum.
