Antennas’ Safer Space Policy and Procedures
Antenna is dedicated to providing safer-space environments at all exhibitions, production facilities and events: we are attempting to create spaces where all people regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, race, nation of origin, education or religion are accepted and respected. We do not tolerate harassment.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments – related to gender, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, race, national origin, religion, education or otherwise – deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, non consensual photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Parties will be asked to stop any harassing behavior. They are expected to comply immediately and may be asked to leave the premises.
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. Any reports of harassment will be treated anonymously and your name will not be included in any communication with the offending parties unless specifically requested.
If someone engages in behavior that violates this safer space policy, the following steps will be taken:
- Team, collective or board member is contacted in person or via email at executivedirector@antenna.works regarding an incident.
- The team will facilitate the completion of an incident report.
- If agreed upon by all parties, the team will facilitate a restorative justice process with all involved. If a resolution cannot be reached between all parties, actions will be taken to remove the party in question from the mailing list, and/or disallow entry to future events run by Antenna.
- In more serious cases, the Antenna team will help facilitate communication with the appropriate authorities on a case-by-case basis.
Thank you for your participation in making Antenna’s Spaces at 3718 and 6330 St. Claude, a welcoming community.
*Currently Antenna’s buildings are not accessible on the second floor. We are working towards making our buildings compliant and in the meantime offer virtual tours of exhibitions on our websites. We are in the process of updating the website to center accessibility, with a hope of relaunching in fall of 2024.
