Local writers celebrate Joyce’s Ulysses with Bloomsday on June 16 at the Irish House

New Orleans will celebrate James Joyce’s Ulysses with a Bloomsday get-together featuring some of the city’s most exciting writers. Jasmine Araujo, George Bishop, Chris Champagne, Addie Citchens, Susan Larson, Louis Maistros, and Chris Waddington will be among those who conduct a marathon reading of the towering Irish novel from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, at the Irish Local writers celebrate Joyce’s Ulysses with Bloomsday on June 16 at the Irish House

Dread Scott to speak at NOMA on May 27

Dread Scott, an inaugural Antenna::Spillways Artist-in-Residence, will speak at the New Orleans Museum of Art’s Friday Nights at NOMA at 6:30 pm on May 27. Scott will discuss the development of his current magnum opus in progress: Slave Rebellion Reenactment. Admission is $10.50, but the event is free for NOMA Members and $5 for Antenna::Signals Subscribers. CPInprint will publish Scott’s Fragments of the Peculiar Dread Scott to speak at NOMA on May 27
