Marie Lovejoy

Based in New Orleans, Marie is a performer, painter, audio producer and storyteller. Locally, she collaborated on New Noise Theatre Company’s production of Jubilee, a synthesis of performance and facilitation. Since 2010, Marie has served as a Media Specialist and Facilitator Trainer with StoryCenter, where she teaches digital storytelling and podcasting. She is a member of Alternate Roots, a social justice organization supporting Southern artists. From 2009-2015, Marie served as the Administrative Assistant and then as Executive Director of The Foundation for Entertainment, Development and Education, where she distributed grants to performing arts educational projects. In her visual art, she explores the state of the solitary feminine through surrealistic figurative work and portraiture in oils and gouache. Marie hand dyes and paints silk scarves.
