Paper Machine is committed to making the book arts and publishing accessible to the Gulf South’s cultural contributors and cultural bearers, providing tools for printing and bookbinding, and opportunities for self publishing and community partnerships. Paper Machine is printing and binding hub of Antenna Press.

#2 As a community partner:
A Community Printing Partnership gives Gulf Coast organizations access to use the full range of services at Paper Machine to produce and print books, posters, pamphlets, postcards and/or unique projects of your design. We offer digital printing on paper up to 13 x 19 inches, foil and white toner additions, perfect glue binding, staple saddle stitch binding, and consultation and education about design and layout for production. These services are offered at a wholesale, at-cost rate to our community partners.

Antenna Press is dedicated to making digitally printed books that align with Antenna’s mission to provide support for cultural contributors and cultural bearers who produce projects at the intersection of Gender and Identity, the Environment, Equity, Renewable Resources, Abolition, Restorative Justice, and the histories of the Gulf South.
To print through Antenna Press, your book project must be accepted either through the Open Call Publishing Award application process, or as part of an exhibit at Antenna Gallery.
Open Call Publishing Award
Open for submissions: October 1 to December 1, 2023
Antenna Press accepts proposals for book projects that align with Antenna’s mission to support cultural contributors and cultural bearers who produce projects at the intersection of gender and identity, the environment, equity, renewable resources, abolition, restorative justice, and the histories of the Gulf South.
We encourage thoroughly developed and/or finalized book project proposals for unique and creative interpretations of publications in the following categories: chapbooks, graphic novels, photobooks, flipbooks, comics, graphic novels, guidebooks, how-to guides.
We accept six proposals a year, divided amongst local and national recipients, and selected by a jury consisting of past recipients, and individuals with a background in publishing and visual art. The jury panel is announced when the call for submissions is opened.
Awardees receive:
-$500 stipend (to be split among any authors/artists/collaborators)
-Up to 20 hours of design and layout assistance from Paper Machine staff.
– A first edition of 75 copies. The award recipient will receive 25 of these copies, the remaining 50 will be sold through Antenna Press. The author can purchase additional copies at cost. Additional editions will be produced once the first edition sells out, and the author/artist will receive an additional $100 grant at the reprinting of additional editions.
