Founded in 2005 by Anne Gisleson, Brad Benischek, Courtney Egan, Case Miller, Ken Foster, Shawn Hall and Susan Gisleson, Antenna (then Press Street) began in response to Hurricane Katrina’s destruction, fostering community recovery through creative collaboration. Today, Antenna builds on this legacy as an artist-run organization in the service to artists and culture bearers, through financial Investment in the community, through regranting, discretionary grants for materials and printing, pro bono printing, and publishing; professional development opportunities such as teaching, speaking, grant writing, exhibitions and publishing opportunities; acting as a fiscal sponsor with individual artists, collaboratives and collectives; and collaborating with the creative community to support emergency responses and to develop a sustainable future for the creative economy of New Orleans.
