Description
In a little kingdom ruled by a pathetic tyrant, whose nemesis is a mythically gigantic blue wasp nested in a burrow beneath the palace, safety is a dream and dreams offer no escape. And yet the wasp and her swarms may persevere … Built from shards and scraps of our myths and realities, this imaginary world confronts the horrors of our world with a deeply felt empathy for all of us in it. By turns lyric, narrative, hybrid, densely allusive and startlingly vivid, Richard’s poems are beautifully accompanied by Kelly Anne Mueller’s richly layered artwork.
Brad Richard is the author of four collections of poetry (Habitations, Motion Studies, Butcher’s Sugar, and Parasite Kingdom) and five chapbooks, including Curtain Option and Larval Songs (both from Antenna) and In Place (Seven Kitchens Press).
