Description
“Tidbits” is a publication developed in conjunction with the artist’s solo exhibition at Antenna Gallery in March 2024. Inspired by the fragility of memory and the anxiety and urgency surrounding the preservation of cultural heritage, “Tidbits” delves into the dynamic and occasionally perverse nature of memories. The artist features definitions of Cajun words, introspective poems, and found paper collages. These elements capture fragments of memories, providing a glimpse into their complex web of connections.
Amelia Broussard, a Louisiana native, creates mixed media collages inspired by her childhood explorations of the bayous. Through her use of recycled papers, she captures the essence of her memories, exploring their unreliability, while also finding joy and appreciation in the beauty of ordinary, everyday things.
