Over its three decades, the festival has faithfully brought acclaimed poets, writers and playwrights from across the country down to the French Quarter, at once celebrating the rich legacy of its RM220’s Picks for the Best Panels and Other Events at the 2017 Tennessee Williams Festival (March 22 – 26)

Maple Street Books hosts Jon Padgett

Maple Street Book Shop will host Jon Padgett at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, at their storefront (7529 Maple Street) to celebrate the release of his debut short story collection, The Secret of Ventriloquism. Padgett will be joined by Adrian Van Young, Alice Phillips, and Dagny Paul. With themes reminiscent of Shirley Jackson, Thomas Ligotti, and Bruno Shulz, but with Maple Street Books hosts Jon Padgett

Richard Siken to headline the New Orleans New Writers 2014 LitFest March 27 and give a reading at UNO March 28

Poet Richard Siken will give the keynote reading for the 7thd annual New Orleans New Writers Literary Festival at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts’ (2800 Chartres St.). Siken is the recipient of a Literature Fellowship in Poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Richard Siken to headline the New Orleans New Writers 2014 LitFest March 27 and give a reading at UNO March 28

Michael Jeffrey Lee and Adrian Van Young read at Maple Street Books (Bayou St. John) June 4

The Bayou St. John outpost of the Maple Street Bookstore empire (3141 Ponce de Leon) will host local writers Adrian Van Young and Michael Jeffrey Lee for readings at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.
