Come One, Come All to the 12th Annual New Orleans Book Fair and Media Expo

The 12th annual New Orleans Book Fair and Media Expo will host more than 40 vendors from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, at the Contemporary Arts Center Warehouse (900 Camp Street).

This marks the second year since the Book Fair jumped ship from its long-time location on Frenchman Street, where it took place for a decade, to the CBD. This fall’s gathering of publishers and book artists will partner with the Crescent City Farmers Market and the Fall Fashion Bazaar as part of the neighborhood event Homegrown for the Holidays in an effort to expose more foodies and fashionistas to the city’s book and literary treats.

As always, the fair will highlight independent publishers, writers, and artists primarily from New Orleans, southern Louisiana, and surrounding states. The event will exhibit a diverse range of work from the printed arts communities—comic artists from the Feast Comix Anthology and the creators of the ‘zine Mamaphile will set up booths alongside more traditional publishers, like the New Orleans Review and the Historic New Orleans Collection. Other genre-bending work can be found with the likes of Luna Press and arts collective S.I.F.T.

Author Stephanie Hepburn will be present to sign copies of her book, Human Trafficking Around the World: Hidden in Plain Sight, anarcho publisher AK Press will be on hand, and community organizations like the Falun Dafa Association, Books 2 Prisoners, and the New Orleans Community Print Shop will table throughout the day’s events.

As always, this year’s book fair comes with its own custom t-shirt. You can see a full list of exhibitors here.
