Dogfish presents Kay Murphy and Megan McHugh
The Dogfish Reading Series hosts Kay Murphy and Megan McHugh at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, at 2448 North Villere Street. The authors will read from and sell copies of their work.
Kay Murphy is Professor Emerita of English at the University of New Orleans. She is the author of two collections of poetry: The Autopsy and Belief Blues. Her third manuscript, Soul Tooth, is looking for a publisher. She has published over 50 reviews of contemporary poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. She has published poetry and fictions in national journals such as Poetry, The North American Review, Chelsea, and American Book Review. Among her awards are a University-wide Excellence in Teaching Award, a Louisiana grant for poetry, and service awards in both the Honors Program and the Creative Writing Workshop. She has taught in Innsbruck, Austria; Montpellier, France; San Miguel, Mexico; Edinburgh, Scotland, and Cork, Ireland. She is editor of the up-coming Anthology of poetry celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Creative Writing Program.
Megan McHugh is a poet, essayist and flower farmer in New Orleans.
