A limited edition book produced to coincide with the 2023 Antenna exhibition of the same name, A World With Monsters and Miracles serves as a thread through the multimedia work of visual artist Sarah Elizabeth Cornejo. Grappling with current troubles and musings on future consequential realms in the wake of human actions in the present, the artist’s work is juxtaposed with excerpts from her own research as well as Latin-American mythologies around the serpent.
Sarah Elizabeth Cornejo uses sculpture, installation, and mixed media work to investigate hybridity as an opportunity for disrupting binaries in the wake of humanity’s current destructive path. She received her MFA in interdisciplinary studio from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA in Studio Art and English Literature from Davidson College. She lives and works in Memphis, TN.
