Antenna’s new blog Transmissions is designed to allow our community to become more familiar with the work, politics and practices of the Antenna team. Transmissions will allow Antenna a space to share long(er) form knowledge, histories and resources to the community as well as providing additional space to amplify and archive the work of the exhibiting artists at our galleries.

TEAM PROFILE:::Angel Perdomo (Facilities Coordinator)

Angel: Sometimes art it’s like…like a school lunch, you get so used to it, but changing it up and adding these installation pieces, it’s like adding apple fritter funnel cake to the menu! Then you’re like, “yo, they brought the good stuff from the back!” from just one small change. I’ve seen many people come through. A lot of times, Antenna has emerging artists that’ve never shown before, so they ask me to put eyes on their pieces. I’ve seen a lot of artists that have had the first chance to exhibit here and how Antenna has propelled them to the next level…

TEAM PROFILE:::Kendrick James (Print Production Specialist, promoted to Lead Print Production Specialist in July 2026)

Kendrik: There’s a few different ways my job and time at Antenna have informed what I do in my practice. Mainly it’s the reminder I mentioned that freedom is also about press, but its also the realization that I’m in a position where I have a set of skills that helps people share their story. Not only do I have the skills as an artist to share my perspective, but I also have the skills as a print production specialist to help someone else tell their story.

TEAM PROFILE:::Jess Johnson (Exhibition & Granting Director)

One of the things I feel proud about at Antenna is giving folks a chance to voice or share their thoughts, their experiences and their voices in a way that is more accessible, giving folks a chance to experiment with the work they’re doing. That feels really important, especially in this particular age where we’re moving backwards in many ways in terms of censorship and access.

TEAM PROFILE:::is (Lead Print Production Specialist until July 2026)

is: There’s this numerologist, Andrew Gabelic – he said write down your mission statement and read it every day. The mission statement that stood out at that time was, “I’m here to help people express their inner and outer realities”. Being at Antenna and working at Paper Machine helping bring others’ books to life feels like it’s definitely a place where that’s able to happen.
