ANTENNA COLLECTIVE MODEL SHIFTING AT END OF 2026::
Antenna originated in 2005 as Press Street, a collective of artists and writers. The organization formed with a mission to promote art and literature in the community through events, publications, and arts education. Shortly after Hurricane Katrina, Press Street began producing events in small businesses that had yet to reopen, including the Saturn Bar and Preservation Hall, to promote a symbiotic relationship between small businesses, nonprofits and artists in the city’s rebuilding.

Over the last 20 years, Antenna has grown from a collective of artists with a shared mission and vision to a 501(c)(3) non-profit multidisciplinary cultural institution and a core part of the city’s arts and culture landscape. Structurally, Antenna has expanded beyond supporting the Antenna Collective to include a staff and board, a book printing and binding facility, regranting initiatives and more.

In response to organizational shifts and to better serve the greater New Orleans’ arts ecosystem, Antenna is sunsetting the Antenna Collective and the “singular collective” model we were founded under. In its stead, we are creating a new model that allows New Orleans based collectives to connect with Antenna, our resources and our larger community that is more in alignment with our current positioning.

The Antenna Staff, Board & Collective will be working through the details of this transition over the next year and will continue to share updates about the process in our newsletter and social media. If you have any curiosities or questions about the transition, please email info@antenna.works or reach out to an Antenna Team member directly through our website.
