The International Writing Program at the University of Iowa at Press Street Station

NOCCA will host guests from the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, at Press Street Station (5 Press Street). New Orleans New Writers Literary Festival

Co-sponsored by NOCCA and Lusher High School, Litfest is open to Louisiana students in grades 8-12th. Events begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, at NOCCA (2800 Chartres Street). Students will attend a master class with Yuri Herrara and attend an open mic event. NOCCA will present for the sixth year straight a group of esteemed writers from around the globe, in partnership with the University of Iowa’s International Writers Program. This year’s reading will feature Ko Hua Chen (Taiwan), Courtney Sina Meredith (New Zealand), Ukamaka Olisakwe (Nigeria), Shenaz Patel (Mauritius), Vladimir Poleganov (Bulgaria), and Zhou Jianing (China). Poet Rickey Laurentiis will give the keynote reading for the 9th annual New Orleans New Writers Literary Festival at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts’ (2800 Chartres St.).
