Paperworks

Antenna is pleased to announce “The Paperworks”, new and recent works on paper by Patrick Cronin. An opening reception with the artist present will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009, from 6-9 pm. The work will be on view until March 8, 2009.

“The Paperworks” is a collection of works on paper ranging from 4 x 6 inches to 5 x 6 feet, in which the artist plays with shape, color, and scale. Using dyes, oil paint, oil sticks and a disk sander, Cronin’s large works have a bright yet eroded appearance. Visual elements reiterate and reinforce themes found in the multiple smaller drawings on exhibit.

Patrick Cronin is an artist residing in New Orleans. His work has previously shown at the Contemporary Arts Center and Simone Stern Gallery in New Orleans, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas, The Diego Rivera Gallery at the San Francisco Art Institute, and at P.S.1 in New York. Pat encouraged and curated artwork at the Art Annex at the Mermaid Lounge gallery, and currently he shows at the Wagner-Sousa Gallery in Galveston, Texas.
