Join Kathleen Schrenk for a signing and reading of her new book, A Dog Steals Home, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, at Maple Street Book Shop (7529 Maple Street).

A graduate of Louisiana State University, Kathleen Schrenk worked as a speech and language therapist in the public school system, and taught middle school science and language arts for twenty years. She is a founding member of NOLA City Bark, the first off-leash dog part in New Orleans (2010( and the author of “Bark Bits,” the dog park’s monthly newsletter. Kathleen also serves on the board of the Louisiana SPCA. Kathleen is also a member of the Louisiana/Mississippi Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Kathleen’s travel articles about European carnival celebrations have been published in Arthur Hardy’s Mardi Gras Guide. Her personal essay on Katrina recovery, Coming Home, appeared in Six Hens Magazine.

A Dog Steals Home, her debut middle grade novel, will be released by Pelican Publishing Company this Spring.
