Dr. Alexis De Veaux at Tulane University

Dr. Alexis De Veaux will give the Custard Lecture and Audra Lorde Days Keynote at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at Tulane University’s Stone Auditorium in the Woldenberg Art Center.

Dr. De Veaux is the author of Warrior Poet: A Biography of Audre Lorde, which won the Gustavus Meyers Outstanding Book Award, the Lambda Literary Award for Biography, and the Hurston/Wright Foundation Legacy Award. She co-founded with Kathy Engel, Lyrical Democracies, a cultural partnership aimed at communities interested in working with poets to enhance existing social projects. She received her MA and PhD from the University of Buffalo. Her most recent book is Yabo.
