Philip Gould (Ghosts of Good Times: South Louisiana Dance Halls Past and Present)

Philip Gould presents an exhibition of photographs from his new book Ghosts of Good Times at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at LeMieux Galleries (332 Julia Street).

The exhibition will run April 19 through May 27, 2017, with reception and book signing during New Orleans Arts District’s yearly fundraiser Jammin on Julia, Saturday, May 6, from 6 to 9 p.m.

LeMieux Galleries is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Ghosts of Good Times: South Louisiana Dance Hall Past and Present examines a world of Cajun dance halls, night clubs, and other venues that at one time were prevalent throughout the region. Philip Gould’s photographs mix recent imagery of buildings in their present condition with historic photographs of the clubs that he took in their heyday.
