Patrice Aphrodite Helmar at Paper Machine

Patrice Aphrodite Helmar’s exhibition, Down By Law features new work made as the inaugural resident artist at Paper Machine. Photographs of revelers and residents alike are installed with found objects, and experimental video. Helmar’s work explores the American fascination with New Orleans’ carnival spirit, and its celebration of life and mortality.
