Anne Gisleson Book Signing and Reading

Anne Gisleson will be reading from The Futilitarians and signing books at 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, at Faubourg Wines (2805 St. Claude Avenue).

Anne Gisleson’s The Futilitarians and the New Orleans poetry classic I hope it’s not over, and good-by: Selected Poems of Everette Maddox, recently reprinted by UNO Press.

New Orleans, literature and fellowship were major inspirations for The Futilitarians, which Sam Lipsyte calls, “a beautiful book about things that matter– love, death, grief, anger, regret, renewal, the life of the mind, the life of the heart, and the life of the world around you.”

The same could be said about the poetry of Everette Maddox, featured in the November chapter of The Futilitarians, which Gisleson will read from. Local poets will also read selections from I hope it’s not over, and good-by.

As unofficial sponsor of The Futilitarians’ Existential Crisis Reading Group, Faubourg Wines is happy to celebrate the interconnectedness of community and art.

Both books will be available for purchase. Complimentary wine & cheese while it lasts!
