Announcing 2024 Open Call Winners!

Antenna is thrilled to announce our recipients for 2024 (2023) National and Louisiana Open Call for Exhibitions. A big thank you to all the applicants. The Antenna Collective and Jurors were impressed by the brilliant creativity, and ingenuity in the submissions.

National Open Call for Exhibitions

2024 Recipient: Jasmine Best

Jasmine Best is a true Southern Artist, gathering narratives from her Carolinian family and childhood. The North Carolina based artist uses her personal memories and manipulations of her memories to create dialogues about the black female identity in the south and in predominantly white spaces.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She works with tangible and traditional mediums combined with digital means of art making. Her work often depicts maternal figures, each depicting the diversity and qualities that make up the black southern women in her life through several generations.

2024 Recipient: Melody Chang

Melody Chang is an artist and independent community engagement consultant in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is committed to improving information exchange between residents and institutions using diverse and accessible methods of communications, including puppetry, social practice, and public art. Melody is a former member of Baskerville Studio, a letterpress print studio operating in the Bywater, a current member of the Interrobang Parading Krewe, and a founding member of the Shadow Wagon group, a mobile puppet troupe that performs shows for neighbors. She recently completed a Master’s in City and Regional Planning at the University of California at Berkeley. During her time there, she explored techniques of place-based storytelling. Prior to graduate school, Melody worked in criminal justice reform in New Orleans. She was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Louisiana Open Call for Exhibitions

Every year, a National juror selects the Louisiana Open Call for Solo exhibitions. The 2024 Louisiana Call, juried by Risa Puleo also includes a curated group show which will feature three Louisiana Artists. You can read more about the 2024 Louisiana Recipients here!
