Artist Talk with Doreen Garner at the Pharmacy Museum

Join us Thursday Oct 6, 6pm at the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum – 514 Chartres St

This night is devoted to the delicate and the disturbing, the beautiful and the grotesque! Join us for an artist talk with Antenna 2016 Open call exhibiting artist Doreen Garner. Garner describes her work as identifying, extracting, and exploiting the tissues that bind the Sexual and the Grotesque, specifically in regards to the black female body. Her sculptures formulate a material mush of beads, Swarovski crystals, silicone, rubber, teeth, condoms, teddybear stuffing, vaseline, etc., held together by glass walls or latex membranes.
