Marker Recycling, Watercolors, and Whimsy!
Saturday, October 20th, 10am-12pm at The Green Project, 2831 Marais St
Turn old dried-out markers into fun watercolors! We’ll be using markers from past Draw-a-Thons. You may want to bring your own used up markers and glass jars with lids.
We’ll also have blank Whimsy Post postcards that you can try out the watercolors.
Be prepared to get your hands messy and wear paint clothes. Children should come with an adult helper, because we’ll be using knives for this workshop.
This year Draw-a-Thon is partnering with the Green Project and Homer A. Plessy Community School to collect and recycle used markers. To participate, all you have to do is bring your old markers to the Green Project! You can drop off markers during the Green Project’s business hours, even if you are not participating in this workshop. We’ll be collecting markers between now and Draw-a-Thon.
The Whimsy Post is sponsored by Draw-a-Thon’s Ministry of Supreme Happiness and was created by artist Laura Gipson.
