Paper Machine Open House

Over the past 4 months we’ve been working on creating this new space and we are all super excited to now share it with the world! Paper Machine is a new center dedicated to the creation and support of print based artists and projects in the Lower 9th. The building is covered with a vibrant mural by Carl Joe Williams, features an epic kinetic sculptural print machine by Christopher Deris that prints designs by Amanda Cassingham-Bardwell and Kiernan Dunn, state-of-the-art digital printing equipment, a full letterpress printshop, the Artist Book Collection spearheaded by Yuka Petz, an exhibition space, and so much, much more!

Join us this Sunday, December 3rd from 1-6 pm to explore all that Paper Machine has to offer, including:

– a holiday pop-up shop featuring work from Antenna‘s Press Street Press, gutwrench press and The Southern Letterpress and other print artists.
– the kinetic sculpture running full steam all day.
– tours of the newly opened Artist Book Collection @ Paper Machine
– the opening of the exhibit Roll Call, A Survey of New Orleans Printers curated by Jessica Peterson
– information about upcoming community workshops and classes in design, printing and book arts.
