What Does Freedom Look Like?

The Southern Rep Theatre hosts “What Does Freedom Look Like?,” a children’s reading and art making event on Saturday, April 22, at 12 p.m. at the Community Book Center (2523 Bayou Road).

Join this free event where the Southern Rep Theatre Acting Company brings stories of the Underground Railroad, emancipation and freedom to life.

Parents can participate in a community conversation facilitated by India McDougle of A Village Concept about how we discuss the history of enslavement and current state of liberation with our children.

Southern Rep teaching artists will guide kids through creating their own written and visual interpretations of freedom and participants will receive a free children’s book to take home!

Food will be provided by Black Swan Food Experience.
