Gritty dudes launch new wine bar reading series

New Orelans literary website Fleur de Lit will launch an ongoing reading series, Reading Between the Wines, at 6 p.m. this Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Pearl Wine Co. (3700 Orleans Ave.).

This first installment will feature readings by George Bishop, who recently released a novel The Night of the Comet, as well as The Pugilists’ Wife author David Armand (this one, not this one), and ex-cop and novelist/screenwriter Chuch Hustmyer (author of The Axe Man of New Orleans). Pearl Wine Co. will be serving up sauce at $5 a glass and Indochow will be running a Thai/Vietnamese/BBQ pop-up.

Reading Between the Wines will be an ongoing series that’s free and open to the public. Maple Street Book Shop will be on hand Wednesday to sell copies of the authors’ books, which they’ll be happy to sign.
