Gulf Coast Playwrights – Meet & Read

Gulf Coast Playwrights Meet-and-Reads are monthly gatherings in which writers bring their works-in-progress to be read aloud for feedback. Generally sections between 10-30 pages are read by participating writers. We ask that playwrights attend at least one monthly meeting before bringing in their work to be read. These readings can be cold table reads performed by attendees or playwrights may also cast the reading in advance with actors of their choice and bring in a rehearsed version. Writers may also choose to email their script to the group in advance so that readers can familiarize themselves with parts (without prior rehearsal). One Meet-and-Read session is a prerequisite for having a Footlight Series Staged Reading. Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm at Art Klub.
