ROOM 220 presents Tiana Nobile and Brigid Conroy’s THE SPIRIT OF THE STAIRCASE

ROOM 220 presents the launch of Tiana Nobile and Brigid Conroy’s The Spirit of the Staircase (Antenna :: Press Street Press) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Antenna Gallery (3718 St. Claude Ave.). Free and open to the public, the event will feature a reading, signing, and reception.

Tiana Nobile lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she is a teaching artist and arts coach with KID smART. She received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College, MAT in elementary and special education from the University of New Orleans, and MFA in Poetry from Warren Wilson College. Tiana is a recipient of a Kundiman fellowship, the Lucy Grealy Prize for Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College and a 2017 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writer’s Award. Her poetry has appeared in The CollagistPhantomBone Bouquet, and TENDE RLOIN, among others.

Brigid Conroy is a writer and interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the relationship between paper, print, and social memory. She has taught media literacy & visual storytelling in New Orleans since 2013, and has worked as an educator for the New Orleans Film Festival, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and the Mini Art Center. She has studied bookmaking & narrative art at the Penland School of Craft, the Sequential Arts Workshop, and Rare Book School at the University of Virginia. She received a B.A. in anthropology from Sarah Lawrence College.
