Blood Jet presents Christopher Romaguera, Nick Fox, and Glenn Shaheen

The Blood Jet Poetry Series will host Christopher Romaguera, Nick Fox, and Glen Shaheen on Wednesday, October 19, at 7 p.m. at B.J.’s (4301 Burgundy).

Christopher Louis Romaguera is a Cuban-American writer who was born in Miami, Florida. Chris attended Florida International University, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy in 2010. After graduating, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he wrote for Where Y’at Magazine. In the summer of 2011, he moved to Oakland, California. There, he wrote for various blogs and reviewed poetry slams for the online magazine, Synchronized Chaos. Chris is currently back in New Orleans, where he is writing a book with Lionel Lombard Jr., recounting Mr. Lombard’s experiences in Dubai, where he was imprisoned.

Nick Fox is a writer, editor, storyteller, explorer and sporting enthusiast who has been performing on stages for over fifteen years as an emcee and spoken word performer. He has hosted numerous burlesque performances in New Orleans, emceed the National Poetry Slam Finals in 2011, and has over a decade of experience as a tour guide. His work has appeared in Third Coast, The Museum of Americana, travellerstales.com, and Waxwing, where he currently serves as the music editor. A native Floridian, former Chicagoan, and 9 year resident of New Orleans, he is currently preparing for a yearlong journey across South America, starting in January.

Glenn Shaheen is the author of the poetry collections Predatory and Energy Corridor, both published by the University of Pittsburgh Press, and the flash fiction chapbook Unchecked Savagery, published by RIcochet Editions. His work has appeared in Ploughshares, The New Republic, The Cincinnati Review, and elsewhere. He lives in New Orleans with his wife, author Laurie Ann Cedilnik.
